There is still hope.

Does it sometimes seem like you are in a fight with life? Maybe it seems that everyday you wake up already tired of the struggle? You’re not alone. There’s no question – life can be tough. Jesus even said so. In John 16:33 He says “In the world you will have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration…” (AMP). It’s not fun to hear but He loves you enough to tell you the truth.
But there is good news. That wasn’t the whole verse! After Jesus warns us that we will have problems in this life he also says the following:
“…but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (AMP)
Wow! So even though we should be not be surprised when life gets tough, we should equally be assured that this world can’t harm you if you know Jesus. There is still hope!
I want you to think of your life like a really good story. Think of your favorite books or movies – they all involve two major things: conflict and resolution. Rocky Balboa’s friend was killed by a giant Russian boxer (conflict) so he trains and finally avenges his friend’s death (resolution). Darth Vader and his empire are trying to take over (conflict) so Luke Skywalker and a team of rebels take out the Death Star (resolution). Indiana Jones has an ancient artifact that he discovered stolen from him (conflict) so he fights to get it back (resolution). We love resolution but the problem is you cannot have resolution without conflict.
You may feel like you’re barely making it in this world but you are only part of the way through your story! The resolution is on its way! Don’t give up yet! Imagine if the Bible abruptly ended right after Jesus died on the cross. Talk about depressing! Thank God that wasn’t the end of the story! He was resurrected, the Holy Spirit was given and now He is asking you to follow Him. There is still hope in Jesus.
I want to encourage you – God has a plan for your life. He is not done with you yet and He is asking you to believe in His son Jesus and let him turn your conflict into resolution. Isn’t it time for you to embrace the God who loves you and wants to turn your life into an amazing story of love and mercy?
If you want to begin walking in hope, pray this prayer to God:
“God, I admit that I am a sinner. My life is fulled with conflict and I have lost hope. But I understand now that you love me and have given me Your Son Jesus, who is the solution to my hopelessness. I turn away from my sin and I turn to You. I trust that Jesus’ death and resurrection have paid for my sin and I receive the new life and healing that comes from knowing Jesus. Teach me your ways and show me how to live. Thank You for loving me and thank You for saving me. Amen”
