Power Up Part 4: Power in Agreement

Power Up Part 4: Power in Agreement

Does your life need a power up? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares about the power available to every believer when we agree.

Matthew 18:19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

Greek word for agree: symphoneo (symphony) to harmonize; to make a bargain.

Cacophony: harsh discordant mixture of sounds.

Agreement brought power at Pentecost:

Acts 1:12-14; 2:1-2 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, a distance of half a mile. 13 When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (the zealot), and Judas (son of James). 14 They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

2:1 On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.

Why does agreement bring power?

1. Because Jesus shows up!Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

2. Because it invites Kingdom math.

Deuteronomy 32:30:  One can chase a thousand and two can put 10,000 to flight.

Disagreement blocks power.

Galatians 5:15 “But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.”

Disunity creates destruction. When we’re fighting each other, no one is fighting the devil.

How to walk in the power of agreement

1. Agree with God.

1 John 5:14-15

The will of God is revealed by the Word of God.

James 4:2-3

There is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. All prayers are answered one of three ways: yes, no or wait. If you don’t get what you ask for, it’s because its not what is best for you, or its not what is best for you right now.

2. Agree with another believer.

Grab a prayer partner and get specific.

Romans 15:30-31

Amos 3:3 “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?”

Are you utilizing the power of agreement?
