Elizabeth Marchant

Getting to know Elizabeth Marchant…

  1. What is your name, and do you have a nickname?
My name is Elizabeth Nicole Marchant. Funny story, my Mom’s family call me Elizabeth and my Dad’s family call me Nicole. The reason I’m called Elizabeth in Thomasville is because my maternal grandmother is the only family I had here when I moved to Thomasville. So, you got Elizabeth. LOL!
  2. What is your current job title at VFC and do you have any other jobs you’d like to share about?
I’m the Office Coordinator Monday-Friday 9-5. I also work at Celebrate Recovery with the Teens and Children as needed, and I work with VFC Kids.
  3. Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born in Indianola, Mississippi. I lived in many places growing up including Delaware, Maryland, Georgia, and Mississippi.
  4. Are you married and do you have any children / family?
I got married when I was 38 years old after many years of waiting and praying to my amazing husband, Joshua Marchant. I have a beautiful teenage daughter, Mya Gonzalez. I feel very blessed to be in this new season of marriage and that the Lord stood by me through the many years of being a single mom.
  5. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
First I wanted to be a marine biologist, then I wanted to own a flower shop, then I wanted to be a psychologist. Never planned to work in a church office, but God had BETTER plans for me than I had for myself.
  6. Aside from ministry, do you have a preferred hobby(s)?
I enjoy traveling so much! If I were a millionaire I would be on every mission trip and visiting every country on every school break. I also enjoy SEC football, I’m an OLE MISS fan, Hotty Toddy! I also enjoy trying new things, be it crafting, foods, activities or places.
  7. Would you like to share anything about your professional career, education or current endeavors?
I went to school until I was 32 years old trying to take myself out of trauma and poverty. I got a Masters degree and worked in the field of Psychology for 16 years and still felt stuck. Once I surrendered my all the God, those generational curses were lifted off of me, I received healing, and today I may not use my degree for my 9-5 but God uses it to allow me to help others everyday. I’m grateful he took over my career because I struggled trying to do it on my own.
  8. What is your favorite thing(s) about VFC?
My favorite thing about VFC is that there is a place for everyone to grow and serve. It’s not just a Sunday morning church. If you want to serve the Lord we have 20 some odd ministry teams you can choose to serve on. We also have events on different days of the week so you can get to know your church family. I also love how much we help the community locally and across the Earth. We truly have an amazing ministry here at VFC and it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I just love VFC!
  9. What is your favorite candy, ice cream, or treat?
I love caramel. Caramel in chocolate, caramel in ice-cream, caramel on cake. I also love a hot cake or brownie with cold ice-cream on top and a gooey sauce on top like caramel or hot fudge. YUMM! My favorite foods aren’t sweets though. What I love the most is seafood, sushi, and especially crabs! MMMMM…. my mouth is watering.
  10. What is your favorite bible verse or book of the bible and why?
I have a lot of verses that are my go to verses for different situations, but 2 of which I really love for myself and where my life has been personally are: Luke 1:45, “You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what He said.” and Psalm 16:11, “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” My favorite book of the bible is Acts because it teaches us how to BE the church.
  11. What would your last words be?
    I left a million dollars under the… ???
  12. Anything else?
I’m just grateful VFC has taught me the fullness of God and the intimate relationship I can have with Him. It brings me grate joy to serve and teach others about Jesus. I’m thankful for this life and for my VFC family.
