Culture Shock Part 4: Kingdom Communication

Culture Shock Part 4: Kingdom Communication

Every culture has their own language. So, what is the language of God’s Kingdom? In this message, Pastor Jamie shares how we can use our words for His glory.

In the New Testament, James says that whoever tames his tongue is a perfect man. One of things that makes up a culture is language, and there is a Kingdom language that Christians are supposed to speak. Your words are tools that can be used to help or hurt. What you say can bring hope or bring harm. It’s up to you.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

What you say matters.

  1. Your words are powerful.
    Proverbs 12:18
    Psalm 141:3
  2. You don’t have to say everything you think.
Your tongue can un-do your testimony.
You don’t have to have an opinion on everything.
    Proverbs 13:3
    James 1:26
  3. Your words reveal the real you.
    Luke 6:45
Your words are a window into who you are.

How to speak Kingdom Communication:

  1. Kingdom Communication requires that you are aware of who you’re talking to.
People are the temple of God. Are you trashing God’s house? People were made in the image of God.
    Ephesians 4:30-32
    James 3:7-10
  2. Kingdom Communication is useful.
Matthew 12:36 – “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”
Your ability to speak isn’t just a gift from God FOR you, but a gift to others THROUGH you.
    Ephesians 4:29

Words are like bricks: you can use them can build a home or break a window – it depends on how you use them.

  1. Kingdom Communication speaks the truth in love.
    Ephesians 4:15
Truth offends the rebellious, love offends the religious.
    Facts inform; truth reforms.

A question for you:
Are you using kingdom communication?
