Make Room for God’s Presence

Make Room for God’s Presence

How can you experience God’s presence? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how we can make room for God’s presence in our lives.

Make Room – you’re full of whatever you’ve been feeding on. If you want to be full of something different this year, you have to make room for it.

You were made to be with God, and God wants to be with you.

The key to experiencing God’s presence is awareness.
Isaiah 6:3“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Habakkuk 2:14
The whole earth is filled with the potential of God’s presence, but He is waiting for us to give Him our attention and tune to the right frequency.
If you’ll look for God everywhere, you can find God anywhere.

How to make room for God’s presence:
Exodus 33:12-14

  1. Invitation.
Revelation 3:20“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
God has created the pathway to His presence—now you get to invite Him into your life.

Exodus 33:15-18

  1. Dedication.
Psalm 27:4 (AmpC) “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life.” God entrusts us with the measure of His presence that we are willing to diligently pursue.

Exodus 34:2-3

  1. Isolation.
You can’t multitask your way into intimacy.
Phil 3:8“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”
God deserves to be your one and only, not one of many.
    Exodus 34:4
  2. Preparation.
    Ephesians 4:30-32
If you want the Holy Spirit to hang out at your place, you’ve got to clean it up. The price you pay for God’s presence is holiness.

Exodus 33:11 “Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.”

  1. Communication.
What you think about God determines how you talk to him.
    James 5:16
    If you believe in a prayer-hearing God, you’ll become a prayer-loving Christian.

Exodus 34:28“Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights.”

  1. Habitation.
    Hebrews 11:6
God doesn’t want to be your one-night stand. He is coming back from a bride, not a harlot.
    Exodus 34:29-30
  2. Transformation.
    2 Corinthians 3:7-11;16-18
