The Holy Spirit wants to be IN you and ON you.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 19:1-7
The Holy Spirit on you gives you power.
Luke 24:49 “I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Your salvation helps you, but your empowerment helps others.
What kind of power does the Holy Spirit make available to us?
- The power to change.
Gal. 5:16 “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
Ephesians 2:13 “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
Work out your salvation, not work at your salvation. - The power to minister.1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Desire spiritual gifts. 1 Cor. 14:1 “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”
Develop your spiritual gifts. 2 Tim 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
Deploy your spiritual gifts. 1 Peter 4:10 “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
No gifts of the Spirit and you’re powerless, No fruit of the Spirit and you’re loveless.
