This is My Story, Part 1: Pressing In

She pressed in… past every obstacle:

Past Fear of exposure and of ridicule and of punishment Past Her own physical weakness, past the pain Past Loneliness and shame  (She didn’t let anything stop her from coming to Jesus) “let us strip off every weight that slows us down,… And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us looking to Jesus, the source… of our faith. (Hebrews 12:1b-2) She pressed in… toward the goal She was focused on the One who could make her well.

When you cannot meet your own needs, you are positioned to receive from the One who can.

Miracles are birthed in desperate situations.

Miracles only happen when you need a miracle.

“Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal…” (Phil 3:13-14 ESV) She pressed in… through Faith Mark 5:27 says, “she had heard the reports about Jesus’ ‘. The Greek word that was translated as “heard” means more than for words to come to the ears; it means to give attention to, to consider what was heard. She heard and pondered the reports of Jesus.

Faith comes by hearing. Are you listening? What is the Lord saying to you through this report about Jesus?

Are you merely curious, like many in the crowd around Jesus, or do you have faith?

Her faith met Jesus. And, when faith meets Jesus, anything can happen.

We see in this story: Jesus sees and knows you. Jesus sees you as the person you were created to be.

There is no shame in the presence of Jesus.

Belong, Believe, Become “Daughter [you belong], your faith has made you well. [You Believe] Go in peace… [walk your faith out: Now Become]” (Mark 5:34 NLT) Jesus does not identify you by your problem.

Your problem is not your identity; it is not who you are.  Your identity is in Christ. In Christ, you are a child of God.

In this story: Jesus Heals. Physical and Spiritual Healing – Healing is available in His Presence. Healing is who He is. Healing emanates from Him.

The Lord’s power is stronger than your problem.

Her story led to breakthroughs for others. In the next chapter in Mark, we read: “Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.” (Mark 6:56) NLT Your breakthrough is not just for you. Your breakthrough brings breakthrough for others. Your faith opens the door for others to step into faith.

Response:

Have you heard the reports about Jesus? His love, His compassion, His sacrifice, Hispower?  Will you allow these reports to fuel your faith to press in… to Him?

What do you desire to receive from Him?

In what way is the Lord asking you to press in?
